Brief description:
On Sunday, 3 September 2023, the Turkish cemetery in Polianthos (Narlıköy) in the prefecture of Rodopi in Western Thrace was attacked by an unidentified person or persons. Twenty gravestones were destroyed in the attack. Police launched an investigation, but the public authorities showed no other strong reaction.
Türkiye also condemned the attack and called on Greece to take the necessary measures to prevent similar acts in the future and to ensure the peace and security of the Turkish minority of Western Thrace.
